Rasmus Branders

Cape Town has some great photo locations, but to me, they have all become a bit stale and overused. With the entry of the latest Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (the Zeitz MOCAA), I have been dying to use its architecture and the surrounding area as inspiration for a shoot.

The otherwise harsh African sun had to be manipulated with reflectors and some endurance from the side of the model to highlight his blue eyes and golden hair. Rasmus was a real trooper and was up for anything to get the perfect shot. Working with someone with as much enthusiasm as me is motivating, and the end result shows.

I have been following his dance and international modelling career for a while so I was excited about the opportunity to work with him. Originally born in Sweden, he is currently in Cape Town for the modeling season (with Twenty Model Management) and will then be returning to his home in Germany.
