Joshua Vermaak

A friend of mine was looking for some shots to start a model portfolio. Seeing as he is also a musician, we decided to take a more editorial route and use his house for a more casual setting. I think the natural window lighting worked wonderfully here and it gave a softer look.

We also ventured out into the streets and got some moody images in black and white. The night shots were done as an experiment in using street lights and neon signs instead of flashes, which turned out to be a challenge but I think it turned out alright in the end.

Next time I want to get creative with some flashes using colour gels to mimic the neon lighting.
