Daytrip to Amsterdam

My trip to Belgium started with a stopover in The Netherlands to be followed by a train to Brussels. I booked the train tickets with enough time to spare so I can do some sightseeing for a few hours.

Seeing as it was a perfectly warm Sunday and there was a marathon happening in the city centre,  the area was packed with people.

I checked in my luggage, quickly learned that walking through Amsterdam means keeping a constant eye out for the thousands of cyclists that breeze down the streets and runners heading to the starting point.

Now that I got out of the rush, I had the time to casually stroll down sidestreets and spot some of the locals.

The one thing the Dutch make that stand out most for me is their amazing cheeses.  I tasted some aged cheeses that were honestly the best I've ever had and afterwards I headed to a bar for some dutch beer and some much-needed rest for my feet.

Sadly I had to head back to the train station and say goodbye for now. I will definitely return one day to see more.
